Zina Studios Inc. is a historic art and design studio that creates and manufactures exclusive hand screen printed custom fabrics, wallcoverings and borders.  All of our fabrics are printed to order, in any color and on any ground the client wishes.   We design and produce our own patterns, and also develop custom patterns as requested by clients. In 2016, the Studio teamed with Holland and Sherry Interiors for a curated collection of wallpapers, which is available through all Holland and Sherry showrooms.  In addition, we have many years of historic reproduction experience.

Over the years the Studio has supplied such interior design legends as Elisabeth Draper, Elsie de Wolfe, Nancy McClelland,  William Pahlmann, Bob Lenox, Jessup, Sister Parish, and Albert Hadley.  The Studio spent many years as a trusted source for Sister Parish and Albert Hadley.

Our Chinese pattern was used by Sister Parish in the bedroom of Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Coolidge, as seen in the book “The Finest Rooms by America’s Greatest Decorators” by Katharine Tweed. We also designed, developed and supplied many of the patterns that became closely associated with Sister and Albert, including Astor Stripe and the iconic Tree of Life that was used in Mrs. Astor’s famous “Money Room”. Please visit our Designs page to see many of the patterns created with Albert Hadley during our years of collaboration. We are proud to have an extensive collection of Mr. Hadley’s designs and his pattern archive.

Zina's fabrics and wallcoverings have been used in the décor of the homes of the Vanderbilts, Astors, Mellons, Rockefellers, Coolidge and Ford families, as well as the Octagon House, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., the Detroit Museum of Art, the Reynolds Foundation Museum in Winston-Salem, NC, and many more.  Zina Studios always gives extreme care and attention to the composition of their orders for the most discriminating clientele in the US.

In addition to work for top decorators, Zina Studios has been very involved in reproductions commissioned by preservation societies.  That work has included the Camron Stanford House in Oakland, CA.  There, we used the Passion Flower design, which led to the discovery that it was the original paper in Mrs. Wetmore's bedroom in Chateau-Sur-Mer, Newport, RI.   Zina Studios was commissioned to reproduce these papers, followed by many others.  It was also discovered that Miss Edith Wetmore was an early client of Zina's and often ordered fabrics and borders.  It was quite a surprise to see several of Zina Studios own designs in various rooms in Newport.  See:  Wallpapers for Historic Buildings, Richard Nylander, 2nd Edition.

Since then, Zina Studios has reproduced papers and fabrics for other Newport mansions, including Kingscote and the Elms; for the Nightingale-Brown House in Providence, RI; the Genesee County Hamilton House Museum; Sleepy Hollow's Washington Irving House; Belle Meade Plantation, Nashville, TN; The Hillwood Museum, Washington D.C.; The Crawford-Clarkson House in Columbia, SC; and the Longfellow House, Cambridge, MA.

The quality of the workmanship and faithfulness to the original documents has given Zina Studios a high reputation in the field of restoration and the demand for their expertise continues to this day.
